Celia Dawson
Headteacher, Cricket Green School
Co-Chair of MSTA
Celia has worked in special education for her entire career, and took up the Headship of Cricket Green in 2001. Since then, the school has twice been judged as Outstanding by Ofsted.
She is passionate about children and young people with special needs being recognised not by their challenges but by the skills and gifts they bring to schools and society.
Celia has been appointed as a National Leader of Education (NLE) and her current NLE work has focused on whole school reviews, reviews of Leadership and Management teams, challenging school leaders, developing inclusive practice and looking at challenge in Performance Management.
In addition she delivers Middle Leadership training, offers support to Aspiring Headteachers and has spoken at conferences for FASD and at the International APERA Conference in Hong Kong, presenting on Leadership and Management.
She believes strongly that practice in special schools has much to offer and enhance practice in mainstream schools.
