Who Are We?
The Merton Special Training Association (MSTA) grew from the Merton Special Teaching Alliance which existed between 2012 and 2021. It was formed by Perseid School and Cricket Green School. We work to deliver support for school effectiveness and specialist best practice which includes School to School support, Continuing Professional and Leadership Development (CPLD) and Initial Teacher Training (ITT). We are aligned with the Wandle Teaching School Hub.
MSTA is headed jointly by Celia Dawson (Headteacher at Cricket Green School) and Fiona Copeland (Executive Headteacher at Perseid School). Matt Ball (Education Consultant), Laura Howarth (Headteacher at Rutlish School ), Keith Ellis (Headteacher at Wimbledon Chase Primary), Katharine Davies (Education Consultant) and Tina Harvey (Education Consultant) are our strategic partners who collectively work to set the overall direction of MSTA. Our unique context enables us to offer exciting and relevant opportunities to achieve our vision. MSTA is committed to the principles of Ethical Leadership.
